Hemorrhoids treatment at home

Hemorrhoid treatment at home

It is not easy to live with a pulsing lump of pain in the rectum. With hemorrhoids, even the simplest actions — sit down, stand up, go to the toilet — turn into a real torment. The idea that along with you from hemorrhoids suffer almost 12.5% of the population, does not bring relief. What is this disease and how to get rid of it?

Causes of hemorrhoids

In most cases, hemorrhoids occur due to circulatory disorders in the pelvic area – when for some reason the outflow of blood through the veins of the rectum is impaired. Stress during bowel movements, constipation, diarrhea, pregnancy – all these conditions can lead to stretching and swelling of the vascular walls, which causes the appearance of hemorrhoids. Hemorrhoids can be located both inside the rectum and outside, around the anus (in the latter case, they can be seen with the naked eye).

Is it possible to cure hemorrhoids at home

It is easiest to treat hemorrhoids of the first stage, when the pathological changes in the tissues of the wall of the rectum and anal sphincter are still small. If hemorrhoids go into the third or fourth stage, which is characterized by the prolapse of nodes out through the anus (if at the third stage they can still be set independently, then at the fourth one cannot even do it), it can only be removed surgically. Or rely on a miracle – but, as the world experience of mankind confirms, miracles happen very rarely.

Does this mean that it is impossible to cure hemorrhoids at home? No, it is not. Firstly, the treatment of hemorrhoids in the first or second stage is conservative – this means that it consists of a greater degree in taking medications, observing the rules of hygiene and changing the regimen. Secondly, at all stages of the development of hemorrhoids, from the first to the fourth, symptomatic treatment is carried out to relieve pain, itching, inflammation in the anus, and even slightly reduce hemorrhoids.

Of course, the treatment of hemorrhoids at home can be done only with the knowledge and approval of the attending physician.

Folk remedies for external use in the treatment of hemorrhoids

Herbal decoction is usually prepared as follows: chopped leaves of medicinal herbs, bark, fruits, flowers, or rhizomes are filled with hot boiled water in the proportion of 1 liter of water for 25-30 g of herbal raw materials. The resulting mixture is heated in a boiling water bath under a lid for 15 minutes, then cools down within 45 minutes. The broth is filtered through a fine-mesh sieve or cheesecloth, herbal residues wring out and the broth is ready for use.

Attention! Cold baths are not recommended for inflammatory diseases in the pelvis!

Sometimes, for the treatment of hemorrhoids, steam baths can be used; then the temperature of the solution can reach 75-80 °. It is clear that it is better not to sit in the pelvis, and the patient hangs over the pelvis, exposing the crotch to the action of steam, until the water cools.

Homemaderectal suppositories for hemorrhoids. A decoction of herbs or other substance is mixed with the base (as a rule, in this role is water or chilled butter). The water freezes, and a rectal suppository is prepared from the cooled oil mixed with the medicinal substance.

Microclysters for hemorrhoids are used only if the hemorrhoids (both external and internal) and the internal surface of the rectum are not inflamed. At the same time, a small volume of solution (up to 200 ml) is poured into the enema, then the syringe tip is introduced into the rectum (it is possible to smear it with vaseline for ease of entry) and squeeze the contents inside. It is advisable to try to keep the solution inside for 10-15 minutes.

Warning! In case of individual intolerance to medicinal herbs, an allergic reaction may occur, therefore it is recommended to first apply a drop of decoction to the elbow bend and see what the skin reaction will be. If, after half an hour or an hour, nothing appeared on the skin that arouses fear, this medicinal herb can be safely used in the treatment of hemorrhoids.

Hemorrhoids Prevention

The easiest way to treat hemorrhoids at home is to change diet and lifestyle.

First of all, you should review your diet to avoid constipation (which are dangerous because they increase the pressure in the abdominal cavity and thereby contribute to the development of hemorrhoids). To do this, eat foods containing ballast substances (fiber). However, it is necessary to introduce products rich in ballast substances into the daily diet with great caution – an excess of fiber can lead to increased gas formation, which again will create increased pressure in the abdominal cavity. In an adult, fiber intake should be somewhere around 25-30 grams per day. If with this for some reason there are problems, you can fill in the missing ballast substances with the help of bio-additives. And the more fiber comes into the body with food, the more you need to drink water.

Some foods can cause a rush of blood to the walls of the rectum, which can aggravate the symptoms of hemorrhoids. First of all it refers to alcoholic drinks and spicy dishes. Such products should be avoided or minimized as much as possible.

For a good, soft chair that slips through the colon without tension, you need to drink plenty of fluids. It is recommended to drink at least six glasses of any liquid per day (no, alcohol is not included in this amount).

It is recommended to use fermented foods regularly – these are well-known dairy products (kefir, ryazhenka, yogurt), sauerkraut, yogurt, kimchi and so on. According to some studies, regular consumption of fermented foods improves digestion, increases the synthesis of nutrients in the intestine, maintains acid-base balance. Intestinal motility also improves probiotics with “good” bacteria, like Bifidius and Lactobacillus. A glass of “live” yogurt will serve as a tasty and useful additive to the diet with hemorrhoids.

You must follow certain rules of conduct in the toilet. First, do not try to squeeze everything out of you immediately and immediately (remember about the intra-abdominal pressure, which is harmful for hemorrhoids). Secondly, it is recommended to visit the toilet in a timely manner – this means as soon as you want. The habit of tolerating leads to increased dryness of the stool, which will create unnecessary stress during bowel movements and, again, increased intra-abdominal pressure. If this is a problem, you can use mild laxatives. To get involved in them is not worth it, otherwise you can get the inflammatory process in the rectum. Thirdly, you can try to use a stool under your feet so that your knees are just above the pelvis – this position contributes to a more rapid release of fecal masses. Fourth, you should not linger in the toilet – for a long time in a position on the toilet leads to a rush of blood to the back of the body and thus to hemorrhoids. And finally, after each bowel movement it is recommended to wash with soft baby soap – this will help reduce the likelihood of inflammation of hemorrhoids.

Exercises and active lifestyle are shown for hemorrhoids. Regular physical activity can improve the state of the cardiovascular system of the body and thereby reduce the pressure on the veins in the pelvic area. Even if the work is associated with a long stay in a sitting or standing position, it is recommended to devote five minutes of physical exercise every hour to disperse the blood and avoid its stagnation in the pelvis. Exercise should not be associated with weight lifting – this can cause hemorrhoid exacerbation; It is also recommended to reduce the number of squats. In general, it is desirable to devote physical exercise at least 2.5 hours a week. Well help with hemorrhoids running, walking, swimming, long walks.
